Silent Struggles, Strong Wins!

"I’m going to share a quick story with you about my main mare. This mare is about as gritty as it gets. She took me to the circuit finals in 2018, and we missed going again in 2019 by just $600. She’s almost always in the top 10 no matter where I take her—as long as we don’t have a stumble or something go wrong during the run. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pro rodeo or a super show—she’s that type of horse. But when we missed the circuit finals in 2019, I felt like something

was just off with her. She was still trying to work for me, but something just wasn’t quite right. She wasn’t really giving me that fire she usually has during a run. Everything checked out on X-rays and ultrasounds. So, despite her showing no outward signs of bleeding—she never coughed after a run, never bled out, never sneezed, never gave me any indication—I decided to have her scoped. Sure enough, she was a silent bleeder. Talk about feeling like a horrible horse mom!

This mare still took me to the WPRA SE Circuit Finals despite being a silent bleeder. The lesson in this is: don’t be fooled into thinking, “Well, my horse is winning, so it’s probably not bleeding.” So wrong. The percentage of bleeders in performance horses is high. From then on, everything I ran was on Lasix. I wasn’t going to take another chance of damaging their lungs.

Fast forward to 2024—I had my eye on Equiflow/Recellerate, but I decided to try and get some babies from my main mare first, so I held off. I watched this product for a year. In January of 2025, I finally ordered my first loading dose for her. I loved the results so much that I now have three horses running on Recellerate.

My mare is 18 and still winning with the best of the best. The peace of mind I have, knowing I no longer have to worry about giving Lasix three to four hours out—and all the risks of dehydration and negative side effects—is worth it in itself. But to know my horse’s lung health is top-notch really brings me peace of mind.

I’ve always been someone who puts the horse first and the sport second. I’ll always go the extra mile to help my horses feel more comfortable. I’m all about stem cell health too—I’ve seen it work wonders with other types of injuries I’ve personally dealt with, so I’m a firm believer in it. I think this product has a bright future, and I truly hope it reaches the right stage and audience to spread awareness."
